Angela had arranged to meet up at this race. Both their father's were killed in crashes in the Indianapolis 500. Swede in 1973
and Dave in 1964, both hitting the same inside retaining wall coming out of turn four onto the front straight. (Racer Eddie Sachs
also lost his life in the 1964 crash)

2012 - September. Rich gets together with former California Congressman & SEC Chairman Chris Cox in Newport Beach to
share stories about their father's racing careers. Chris's father, Charlie Cox, was a skilled racer back in the 50's and 60's. After
Dave MacDonald's death at Indy, Carroll Shelby decided to sell Dave's King Cobra. Charlie bought the car and raced it very
successfully during the '64 and '65 seasons including a strong showing in the 1964 LA Times Grand Prix where he outdueled
many of the world's top drivers to finish 12th.

1964 - October. Sherry MacDonald relaxing on "To Please a Lady" at the Colorado River. This was the maiden voyage
for the boat Dave was having built for her before he lost his life at Indy. Dave had hired boat builder Nick Barron of Hallet
boats to custom shape an 18' flat bottom hull and fit it with a one of a kind deck using Monkeypod wood flown over from
Hawaii. Dave and legendary NASCAR team owner Bill Stroppe were able to secure a brand new Mercury Marauder 427
racing engine - one of only 50 made - and Bill was to prepare the high speed engine for Dave to race. After Dave's death
Mickey Thompson worked with Ford executives to ensure the boat was completed in a timely manner and delivered to
Sherry. And Bill kept his promise and tuned the engine, albeit in a scaled down manner. Ford Motor Company graciously
paid the balance on the boat, and also worked with Carroll Shelby to gift the factory loaner '64 Thunderbird to Sherry.

1964 - October, Labor Day weekend. Dave's son Richie celebrating his 7th birthday as Sherry takes the family - and the
newly finished "To Please a Lady" flat bottom boat to the Colorado River.
